Kelvedon and Feering Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch started in Cheshire in 1982
and as the idea caught on, it rapidly spread throughout the country.
The aim of Neighbourhood Watch is to stimulate public interest in the idea of
protecting local neighbourhoods and the wider community against crime.
Kelvedon and Feering Neighbourhood Watch works in partnership with the Police,
the community and other agencies, such as the Fire Service, Ambulance Service
and local Councils to help make the two villages a safe and secure place to
live.
A bonus of being part of Neighbourhood Watch is that you can usually obtain a
discount on your house/contents insurance. However, it is best to check first,
as insurance companies are now either refusing to pay out or will only give a
reduced payout in the event of a claim, if you have ticked the box to say you
are part of Neighbourhood Watch and that statement is found to be incorrect.
If you are not currently receiving Neighbourhood Watch information on a regular
basis or a newsletter twice a year, then in all likelihood you are not part of a
Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
