Illustrated map of Kelvedon Parish
Poster-sized coloured maps of the parish are available for sale at £5, with
profits going to local organisations.
The poster has, as its central focus, a coloured map of the
whole of Kelvedon parish, based upon the Ordnance Survey map.
In addition, the poster incorporates:
- colour reproductions of 12 of the well-loved St Mary’s Hall watercolours
showing village scenes;
- birds, fish and flowers found within the parish – specially painted for the
map by local artists;
- anecdotes and facts about local history.
It provides interesting background information that places the village in
context.
Established residents will recall that the map was originally produced to
commemorate the Parish Council Centenary in 1994, but many newer and younger
residents may not be aware of the publication and may welcome the opportunity to
possess a copy. Further copies have therefore been made available.
The map makes a great poster for display or may make an ideal gift.
How to order
Each map costs only £5 and the proceeds of each sale (less a small production
fee retained by the council) will be split equally between the
Kelvedon
Community Association and the Kelvedon Youth Forum. Maps can be delivered by
post if the cost of postage and packing (£1 within the UK) is added to the order
(so, the total cost by post is £6).
To view a copy of the map, or to place an order, please
contact the Clerk.
