Road closure advance notice
News - 2 March 2007
The main road between
Feering and Tiptree (B1023) will be subject to extensive road works and will be
closed to through traffic for a period of approximately 8 weeks, beginning the
week commencing Monday 2 April 2007.
The Highways Authority have
given the Parish Council notice that they intend to carry out road works on the
B1023, which is the main road linking Feering at Gore Pit Corner (The Old Anchor
public house) and the centre of Tiptree. The work will include carriageway
resurfacing; new sections of kerbing; small lengths of new footway; improved
signing; and the cutting back of all adjacent hedging.
The work will begin during
the week commencing Monday 2 April 2007 (although hedge cutting work will be
undertaken prior to this) and is expected to last approximately 8 weeks.
The road will be closed to
through traffic although access to all properties will be available at all
times.
A proposed, lengthy,
diversionary route directing drivers northwards towards Colchester will be
arranged, although local traffic is expected to find alternative local routes. Given the extensive nature of these proposed works local people who travel
between Kelvedon and Tiptree should anticipate that their journey times will
increase and extra time should be allowed. The Highways Authority has put
arrangements in hand in respect of public and school transport affected.
This information will be
updated on receipt of further information from the Highways Authority. |
