Annual Parish Assembly

News - 11 March 2010

All Kelvedon electors, and members of societies and organisations, are most cordially invited to attend this year’s Kelvedon Annual Parish Assembly, on Thursday 22 April at 7:45pm at the Kelvedon Institute.

The Assembly is open to all local residents, of all ages and interests, and is the chance to hear about the council’s activities over the past year and its plans for the future.

At this year’s Assembly, reports will be presented by parish, district and county council Members on work undertaken during the year on behalf of the village, plus reports from our Member of Parliament and the local police.

Unlike the normal formal meetings of the Council, members of the audience may ask questions and participate in the debate so you can play an active part in the proceedings and raise matters with your local elected representatives.

A special item this year will be an exposition of possible sites for a pedestrian crossing/central refuge in the High Street. The advantages and disadvantages of the sites will be discussed, and residents attending the meeting can express their preferences. There is no guarantee that Kelvedon will get a crossing, but the community’s views can be conveyed to the Highways Authority at Essex County Council.

It promises to be an interesting and lively evening, rounded off with a cup of tea and informal chats with your councillors. Please come and join us, and bring your friends and neighbours. We look forward to seeing you.

IT’S YOUR VILLAGE – YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
