Level crossing upgrades
Network Rail will be doing work to upgrade level crossings in your area between February 2020 and November 2020. This will involve the installation of new safety equipment and will enable people to continue to safely use these crossings on our increasingly busy network.
This work, which is being delivered by Network Rail on behalf of Greater Anglia, includes upgrades to over one hundred level crossings along the following routes:
• • Shenfield to Southend
• • Broxbourne to Hertford East
• • London to Norwich
• • Cambridge to Stansted.
The first stage of this work is to install Red-Light Safety Enforcement cameras (RLSE) at 13 level crossings including at Church Street (CO5 9AL). These works are planned to take place between February 2020 and November 2020 and will, in most cases, require a two day road closure. More information, including dates and temporary diversionary routes, will be provided to local residents once site-specific details are confirmed with the local authority.
