Terms and conditions for Kelvedon Parish Council Photo Competition
Competition opening and closing dates
- Competition opens: 25th July 2018
- Competition closes: 3rd September 2018 (closing date is at the sole discretion of Kelvedon Parish Council)
1. Conditions of entry
1.1 This competition is free to enter. Any expenses incurred in the process of entering the competition will not reimbursed.
1.2 This competition is open to children aged 3 – 18 years living in Kelvedon and the surrounding villages. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of the terms and conditions.
1.3 The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered.
1.4 Entries must be submitted by midnight 3rd September 2018.
1.5 Entrants can submit as many photos as they wish to, however if successful, a maximum of one photo per entrant will be shortlisted on 4th September 2018.
1.6 Images must be taken within the boundaries of Kelvedon.
1.7 All entries submitted must be the original work of the individual submitting them. Entries must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use or have any watermark or signature added. If Kelvedon Parish Council has reason to believe any entry is not entrant’s own work or otherwise breaches this rule, the entry will NOT be considered.
1.8 Entries must either be emailed to email@example.com, submitted via our Facebook page @kelvedonparish, or on Twitter or Instagram. Entries on Instgram and Twitter are only valid if they use the hashtags #ilovekelvedon and #kelvedon, and tag @kelvedonparish.
1.9 – If photos contain identifiable image of any individual over the age of 18 it will be assumed that consent has been obtained from that individual. If photos contain images of anyone under the age of 18 they must be sent with a message stating that consent has been obtained by the parent / guardian of that person.
1.10 While photos taken before the start of the competition are welcomed, they must not pre-date 1st January 2018.
2.1 Copyright of all entries remains with the entrant, but Kelvedon Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Plan team reserve the right (but shall be under no binding obligation) to use, publish and republish all entries in connection with the competition (as set out in 4.6 below), and in promoting Kelvedon without payment. By entering this competition, the entrant grants irrevocable permission to Kelvedon Parish Council to reproduce any submitted photos on web sites, social media and printed material should they be selected to promote the competition and Kelvedon in perpetuity.
2.2 Photos must not be in the opinion of Kelvedon Council be obscene, defamatory, offensive or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations.
3. Data protection
3.2 Entrants confirm by submitting an entry that any individual whose image is clearly identifiable in the competition entry has given consent for the use of his/ her image in connection with this competition and in accordance with these terms and conditions and publicity detailed in condition 3.1 above.
3.3 Where an individual whose image is clearly identifiable in a competition entry is less than 16 years old the entrant must confirm that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consents. This confirmation needs to be in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org
3.4 Kelvedon Parish Council will only use entrant’s details to contact them about this Photography Competition.
4. The prize
4.1 Overall winner and entries of merit will be displayed on social media and in printed materials. Winners will be notified as soon as possible after the competition closes.
4.2 The prize is one £20 Love2Shop voucher.
4.3 Events may occur that render the promotion or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond Kelvedon Parish Council’s control, who may at their discretion vary or amend the competition and the entrant agrees that no liability shall be attached to Kelvedon Parish Council as a result thereof.
4.4 The prizes are not transferable.
5. Overall winner
There will be one overall winner of the competition. Members of Kelvedon Parish Council will create a shortlist, and winners will be decided via a public vote on social media. We will announce the overall winner after the competition has closed and the entries have been judged.
6. Publicity of the competition
6.1 The winners’ names and entries will be published on digital online media and printed communications.
7.0 The entrant shall indemnify Kelvedon Parish Council against all cost and losses suffered by it caused directly or indirectly by any breach of these rules.
