Planning Committee

The Parish Council, as a statutory consultee, responds to both major and minor planning applications within the parish, submitted to Braintree District Council (BDC), via the Planning Committee. Their representation is sent to BDC for their consideration when making a decision as the Local Planning Authority. The Parish Council is also consulted on the BDC Local Plan, and submits representations into the process at each stage.

Public opinion from the village is very much taken into account on all of these issues and consultations have taken place via public meetings and the Parish Assembly.

The Planning Committee also considers and responds to applications about mineral extraction and waste, proposals for the A12 and A120, the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) and the Flood Alleviation Scheme.
